Meet the curator & creator behind Living De Novo!
Michelle Kanberg is a furniture and home decor designer; creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces in a range of styles; allowing each piece to inspire her with it’s unique character.
Michelle also enjoys the challenge, creativity and artistic expression of repurposing objects, ultimately keeping them from ending up in a landfill.
After discovering Annie Sloan chalk paint nearly a decade ago, she began her Living De Novo journey breathing new life into old, forgotten pieces, and re-awakening furniture & decor with a fresh new look.
This quickly became a passion of hers, and while out searching for forgotten pieces to paint, she discovered a love for history and hipstoric items. Her passion grew and evolved to include re-homing vintage, antiques and other sweet-secondhand wonders to new homes where they will be loved and cherished for their history and unique style just as they are.
Recently Michelle has added sharing her living de novo journey of "life over again" with others as part of her mission. After navigating through life challenges on her own personal journey, she desires to inspire and help others reimagine, reawaken & transform their own lives.
Just as furniture and home decor can experience a reawakening, her desire is to inspire others to join her on this journey of rediscovering, reconnecting with and renewing ourselves through a similar process of the objects we reimagine.
